We have over 30 years of designing experience. We offer a full-service approach from design layouts to cabinet and countertop selections.

We work with local tradespeople to ensure the finished product is skillfully delivered. From painters to plumbers we have relationships with all your renovation professionals.

We Pay Close Attention to Detail

We help manage the entire kitchen or bathroom renovation process, from the drafting of innovative and functional designs, and helping to choose quality products and materials, to the expert installation of cabinets and countertops.

We offer free in-home consultations. During this visit we will ask questions that will help us to understand what the scope of the project will be and of course how you envision your new kitchen or bathroom to look.

Professional Kitchen Design with Realistic 3D renderings will be created once we’ve met with you and taken the measurements needed for detailed drafts, elevations, and floor plans. When planning for a kitchen remodeling, we help to make sure all aspects have been thought about before the project starts. This can also include the removal of your old kitchen cabinets.

Your budget is important to us. We will discuss all costs with you, and will modify the design until it matches your style and needs in your new kitchen space.

Once your design has been finalized, Timea Design Cabinetry works with you throughout the entire length of your project.

Eco-friendly Options

Improve the healthiness of your home while protecting the environment by going Green with your cabinetry!

Some more formal benchmarks to look for when purchasing cabinetry:

4 Star Rating - One of the most demanding standards in the world - the Japanese indoor air quality regulation.  Products undergo rigorous testing and are awarded stars for low formaldehyde content.  The highest rating is 4 stars and is granted by the Japanese MLIT (government ministry).

CARB2 Compliancy – The California Air Resource Board’s (CARB) mission is to improve air quality.  Building materials in California must be CARB2 compliant for use in construction.  Materials undergo independent emission testing for formaldehyde in order to be approved.

EPP Designation – Environmentally Preferred Product – Material that has been recognized as reducing impact on the environment, across the board.

LEED Accreditation – Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – A point system used to rate the reduced impact and human benefit of new buildings.  Each design element or construction material is allocated points based on a broad spectrum of environmental benefits, including low emissions, decreased energy consumption, and utilizing recycled materials, to name a few.

Green is the new black, but to us it's been in fashion for years

EcoPlus, Merit Kitchens' environmentally sensitive LEED accredited product line, was originally crafted over a decade ago to meet one of the most demanding standards in the world - the Japanese indoor air quality regulation. EcoPlus was awarded the highest rating - the coveted F**** (F 4 stars) issued by the Japanese Ministry - guaranteeing it to be healthier for homes, businesses, and the environment as a whole. It's no wonder it's a favourite product for Green building projects and environmentally savvy consumers.

Even our standard products are compliant with EPP, and the highest requirement of CARB2 in California. We are so committed to improving the safety and quality of our customer’s environment, that now all of our MDF products meet the above standards.

EcoPlus - Metropolitan: Offering an affordable, sophisticated, and environmentally responsible alternative to today's most desired exotic hardwoods.

 * All veneers are crafted from plantation-grown and responsibly-managed woods.

* Water-based dyes used to achieve colours.

* Attractively mirror the appearance of exotic and rare hardwood species, without compromising the sustainability of these environmentally fragile forests.

* 100% preconsumer recycled material furniture board core, with no added urea formaldehyde (NAUF).

"We had Timea come in to renovate our very aged kitchen. They were wonderful! Mike and Rita were extremely professional and knowledgeable, helping us with our initial decisions about material choices and placement. They kept to their time lines and price quotes ( extremely appreciated!) and the work quality was second to none. As time goes on I keep noticing little details as to the craftsmanship of the work. We have also had other tradespeople in for other things and each has commented on how amazing the quality and look is. My father (realtor) has even taken to showing prospective clients our kitchen as an example of “what you can do” with regards to renovating their houses. We wouldn’t hesitate to have Timea complete more projects for us ( and do have some!) thank you for all the hard work!"  - Barb & Guy, Salt Spring Island

"What a great experience working with Rita and Mike to renovate our outdated kitchen. Rita’s brilliant suggestions and ideas along with Mike’s conscientious workmanship were outstanding. Rita’s patience and guidance with our evolving ideas never fazed her, and her final design met all our criteria for the most used room of our home.  Mike managed all the associated trades needed to complete, and in his “free time” he built us a beautiful custom walnut countertop. We look forward to working with them on our next project.  If you want great customer service, a fair price, and excellent workmanship give Timea Design Cabinetry a call."-

Karen & Gerald T., Salt Spring Island

"I am delighted with my new kitchen, a real transformation. The quality of the cabinets and workmanship are outstanding. Mike and Rita are helpful, efficient and a pleasure to work with. I hope they will return to do my bathrooms soon!"- Colette Hale, Salt Spring Island

"I contacted Timea Design Cabinetry to update my 1980’s kitchen in my 1970’s house. I’m so pleased with the result! The main comment from my friends was “Wow, this kitchen should appear in a magazine!” Rita and Mike responded quickly and listened to what I wanted and stayed within my budget. Rita prepared plans and I was easily able to discuss ideas, suggestions and changes with her. Once the plans were in place the renovations became much more of a whole house project. The project included updating plumbing, electrical, painting and a new hardwood floor throughout the main level. Mike was agreeable, gave us good ideas and was able to listen and act on our suggestions. Working on an older house provides some challenges but Rita, Mike and team were able to problem solve them. The end result is a bright, airy functional kitchen and home, that I and my family will be able to enjoy for many years. Thanks to Timea Design Cabinetry for making it happen! I’m thinking of remodeling the bathroom/laundry room and I would use the Timea Design Team again without hesitation!"- Leslie Jo Stubbe, Salt Spring Island

“Perfect fit and excellent service!”- Claude & Caroline C.
